“I’m the dumbest guy you ever had on this podcast.”

After circling in obscurity on the Estonian comedy circuit (a space he shared with “3 other comics”), Ari wriggled free with an idiosyncratic, wild comedy style unmirrored by his British and American counterparts. His star power was undeniable, and he quickly became one of the most popular young comedians in the world. In the years since, he has collaborated with Joe Rogan, appearing on his podcast and Netflix special Burn The Boats, and established himself as a regular on the world's most popular stand-up podcast, the legendary Kill Tony.

Why did we invite him on?

Comedians are an unusual breed, but even among them, Ari is a rare specimen. His one-of-a-kind outlook has proven infectious to his fanbase, and we wanted to get his view on

That’s what we wanted. What we have is harder to explain. Put simply, it might be our most outrageous interview yet.

What did we talk about?

Perhaps this is best illustrated by his answer to our first question - “Why did you move to America?” - ending with him openly pondering whether he’d enjoy killing someone. Good start.

Rather than try to tame the untameable, we thought the best way of getting to know Ari was to let the conversation go where it may.

And “where it may” included, but it was not limited to - Nazis, Bangkok, Jews, black people, “grabbing ass", saunas, Russians, Charlie Chaplin, Benny Hill, immigrants, the tradition of Vaudeville, Austin comedy, “retards”, “f*ggots”, and what counts as gay. No stone was left unturned.
