Can you please ask Mr. Ibrahim to recommend a couple of books on the Islamic slave trade in Africa and elsewhere?

Given the cultural and historical “glue” that Islam has, is it possible for a great awakening? My fear is that ISIS is the manifestation of Islam’s reformation.

What are your thoughts about Sami Hamdi's visa being revoked and being detained by ICE? Is revoking and withholding US visas for those who are promote/have participated in violence and using extreme rhetoric a wise policy?

Men with portable prayer rugs kneeling down on them at the same time daily is a brand new routine that has been occurring in various areas of our very blue city neighborhood. We see them as we drive the kids to Hebrew school. My kids ask me if those men we see are taught to hate Jewish people and I am just not sure. Question: Is this in-public display done on purpose to make a statement? Are they trying to intimidate? Should we take our mezuzah off our front door?

There seems to be a belief in left wing circles that Islam spread to billions of people with flowers and chocolate and not a hint of violence. My question is, in Islamic schools/universities, is this how Muslims understand their own history, or is this purely a western invention?

In human history where does Islam rank as an ideology for galvanising young men in preparedness for war and older men for ruling by totalitarianism?

In nations born from Christian ideals but being run from a secular perspective, what can be done to harmonize the religious and secular elements in society to combat the growing global religious/ideological conflict between Christianity and Islam?

Thoughts of Raymond Ibrahim please. Here's the thing. And the danger to democracy. My neologism "cogniostasis" - the cognitive equivalent of homeostasis - the mental feedback loop that tells me what I want to hear. The Festinger fix for cognitive dissonance. Which allows me to 'outsource' my self respect to like minded lobotomised lemmings who'll give me my mandatory Hegelian recognition. Thus the need for 'existential courage' is no longer. You can live life in a 'Tit for Tat' ( Axelrod ) game theory version of catastrophic co-operative behaviour. Part groupthink but mostly no think. Cancelling courage is the catastrophe. "Help me if you can I'm feeling down " the Beatles.............

What did Hitchens get right in his discussions on Islam? Where did he get things wrong or make an incorrect prediction?

In Muhammad’s Medinan period, the Prophet transforms from a persecuted preacher into a political and military leader. For Muslims who regard him as the perfect man, how should one understand the moral implications of that transformation? Can perfection include the use of warfare, and if so, what does that mean for how modern Islam interprets authority and violence?

PRETENDING TO KNOW THINGS ONE DOESN'T KNOW IS A BETRAYAL OF SCIENCE - AND YET IT IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF RELIGION.- SAM HARRIS. I have concluded it is the 'Death of Democracy'. No religion involved. Perhaps Raymond and Sam should be triangulated with you KK. Raymond rightly roasts western university driven epistemology. Second / third hand knowledge served up as fact. And drawn not remotely from objective truth - experience - or empirical evidence. Truth Trust and the Titanic. We are 30 degrees bow down. 6 of 16 watertight compartments full as a goog. No way back . How to re-float democracy ? Good luck with that.

Hi Raymond! You made an incredibly insightful point about no one believes in a moderate Nazi, on Gad Saad's show, so could you explain why people excuse radical Muslims by using moderate Muslims' supposed amiable nature as a cover? I have a theory but I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thank you for all you do and God bless! ❤️

A Muslim scholar at MIT wrote a book about this. ‘Islam and Science‘ by Pervez Hoodbhoy. (I think he’s since left Islam.)

Most of the scientific discoveries during that time were not by Muslims, but by Jews, Christians and others. Some of them adopted Arabic names so they wouldn’t be harassed. (This was when the lands were relatively newly conquered, and so the Muslims were minorities. They couldn’t be too zealous about sharia or they risked being overthrown. Once they became a large percentage of the population they became very strict. See ‘The Third Choice’ by Mark Durie, and ‘The Myth of the Andalusian Paradise’ by Dario Fernández-Morera)
