I mentioned previously on Trig with Nathan Cofnas that reading the Bell Curve and the IQ literature was the best way to have an existential crisis. There are traits other than single gene disorders that significantly impact people’s lives, and if you control for environmental impacts (eg poverty or schooling) you maximise the impact of biological differences. If genetic engineering is not how we solve this problem, are we doomed to have a class of people who are permanently entrenched at the bottom of society - for instance, amongst low IQ peoples?
