Maya Forstater
Women's rights activist and co-founder of Sex Matters
Maya Forstater is the co-founder and CEO of Sex Matter. An organisation with a mission to promote clarity about sex in law, policy and language in order to protect everybody’s rights.
She came into the gender debate as the claimant in an employment-tribunal test case on belief discrimination, when she lost her job after tweeting and writing about sex and gender.
Tomorrow she is coming on to Triggernometry to discuss the recent supreme court judgement on what the definition of what a woman is. The UK Supreme Court has ruled that the legal definition of a woman should be based on biological sex.
She will be sitting down with Francis and Konstantin to discuss what the ruling means for women, single sex spaces, women’s sport and transgender people.
Comment your questions for the guys to ask Maya at the end of the interview.
What is the likelihood in your opinion of the government negating the recent supreme court ruling on the definition of”woman” in light of the leaked WhatsApp messages over the weekend?
Is there now space to admit that there are masculine women and feminine men without having to change sex? This seems to be missing more and more in today's conversation.
