What do you make of the argument that the Constitution is invalid because it was imposed when the original Articles of Confederation failed to have a strong enough state?

America has a deeply conservative streak going all the way back to the Puritan colonists. At the same time, America is the source of many of the most socially liberal (even to the point of madness) policies in the Western world. How can we explain the coexistence of these two phenomena?

How do you perceive some of the current social tensions regarding Israel/palestine playing out in America? Will it calm down or ramp up during trump's term? Are there similar situations in recent history that might teach us something about how it will play out?

Imagine that you've been accidentally included in a private Whatsapp messaging group which includes the US President, Vice President and Secretary of State for Defence. How high is your adrenalin running as a journalist and silent observer whilst sensitive information is being exchanged on proposed bombing raids in the Middle East?

(And would you voluntarily leave the group?)

I'm starting to come around to the idea of finding God after being non-religious most of my life. I'm starting to realize that walking through life without hope and just accepting that random, horrible things can happen to the people who deserve it the least, without any reason, is making me a miserable bastard. I'm starting to think I might be happier putting my faith into idea that there's a 1% chance that maybe we don't live in a completely cold and indifferent universe. Do we have reliable data that shows us religious people are on average more happy than the non-religious?
