When is it going to be acceptable for Jews to recognize that there appears to be a direct correlation between the rise in Muslim population in cities and countries in the West and the creep of acceptable antisemitism? While Jews are having an existential crisis in Europe, is that same fear coming to the U.S.?
How do you think ot came to be that westerners came to believe that Muslims, a people that are the 2nd largest religion on earth, are some kind of put upon global minority?
Do you think its true that although most "good" muslims are non violent, the same people will ignore the extremists and put their behaviour down as acts of god or such rather than callout the terrorism, so in the sense none can really ever be fully trusted?
Hello: My question for Ms Haider relates to her knowledge of Islam, Islamic education and what I think is the "West's" naivete about these. Specifically, as I understand it, Islam (in contrast to Christianity, Judaism & other western religions) recognizes no separation between Church and State. On the contrary, under Islam, the state and its organs are obliged to advance the will of Allah, as expressed by Mohammad, in the Koran (and other religious texts) and as expounded upon by religious leaders. This includes schools. When we send our kids to Catholic or other Christian schools, or Jewish schools, we assume their education includes the norms of western civilization. But when kids are sent to Islamic schools, or Islamic centres that include schools, camps etc, since they are obliged to advance the will of Allah, I fear that their "education" includes the subservience of the State to Islam, and the subservience of Common Law/Anglo-American Law/Civil(Continental) law or whatever to Sharia Law. So, what emerges is not a young member of society ready to participate in a western democracy, but maybe someone who sees western society as evil, irreligious and something to be destroyed. That is why I fear 2nd and 3rd generation Islamic immigrants more than 1st generation ones who probably came to escape hellholes while looking for a better life. There is a saying attributed to Lenin " Give me a child for the first 5 years of his life and he will be mine forever. " He probably didn't actually say it, but the idea is good and I worry it applies to Islamic education in the west. Are we naive in thinking that Islamic schools are no different than other religious schools in the west? Or am I overthinking this? Thank you.
President Erdogan says there is no moderate or militant Islam there's only Islam. Where does that type of reasoning leave those who want to connect and work with a moderate faction of Muslims.
